September 16, 2024 - In a move designed to further streamline the college admissions process and make education more accessible, ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» is introducing its new 3 States, 1 Rate tuition model. This initiative offers tuition reciprocity for students from Ohio and Indiana.
The 3 States, 1 Rate model eliminates the confusion and complexity surrounding tuition. Undergraduate students from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana who are admitted for the fall of 2025 will all qualify for in-state tuition regardless of county of residence within those states. This new tuition model makes the cost of attending ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» more predictable and transparent.
βΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» is breaking down barriers to higher education, and 3 States, 1 Rate is another significant step in that direction,β says ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» President Dr. Cady Short-Thompson. βWe want our students to focus on their academic goals and success, not on deciphering complicated tuition structures. This model reinforces our commitment to affordability, access and student success.β
The simplicity of the 3 States, 1 Rate model also includes a simplified merit scholarship process. Students within defined high school GPA ranges automatically qualify for merit-based financial aid. This eliminates the need for students and families to navigate complicated award formulas. ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» is tying merit directly to academic performance, making it easier for high-achieving students to plan their finances and receive recognition for their hard work.
The launch of ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³»βs new tuition model comes on the heels of ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» being named No. 29 in the nation for Best Value by the Wall Street Journal, a recognition that highlights the universityβs commitment to affordability, academic excellence and a strong return on investment for students.
