 Learning Objectives

Managing Money

Chances are you've each been managing your own money as single people. Now that you are married, it's time to create a strategy of how both of you are going to manage your finances together.

We'll discuss the various ways you can set up your accounts:

  • Joint accounts
  • Separate accounts,
  • Combination

You'll learn the pros and cons of each and gain clarity on how to proceed in your situation.

Credit Cards

Using credit and credit cards is something each couple must decide together. There are risks associated with the various scenarios, whether one credit card is used by both, or if each person has their own and pays it off themselves.

We'll discuss and present various options, the risks involved, and more.

Investing

Investing is a way that you can create wealth and fund the life you both want to live together. There are a myriad of options when it comes to investing. You might have goals that include paying for a child's education, retirement, leaving a legacy, and more.

Joint Budget

Managing your combined finances requires you to create a budget of income and expenses. We'll discuss and address the various ways to create a budget, enter expenses and income, and what to do if you're cash positive or cash negative.

Managing Debt, Together

When two people get married, chances are that the couple assumes the debt of the spouse. While each couple needs to decide on what they're comfortable with, we'll discuss some different strategies to manage debt, become debt-free, or debt averse.

These topics and more will be covered during our Marriage and Money Seminar.
